Triumph Repair: Triumph Spitfire valve springs, dual valve springs, dual spring

Hi Jim,
I'm having the heads on my spitfire reconditioned by a local speed shop. My question is, is there any benefit to switching to the dual valve springs since they will have the Head apart?

You neglect to mention if it's an 1147 or a 1296.  Also, what are your plans for the engine?   Stock rebuild or something a bit warmer?

In general I'd suggest sticking with the factory setup, unless the change is something you've worked out with either your parts supplier or machine shop to make sure you won't have problems, such as the dual spring setup binding at full lift.
