Triumph Repair: Electric fuel pump, electric fuel pump, electric pumps

Hi Jim, I recently put a webber down draft carb on the engine. I want to install a electric fuel pump. Were is the best place to mount the pump and do I have to remove the mechnical pump and put some kind of cap were the pump was?

Hi Bill,
It is advisable to remove the mechanical pump and put a plate over the hole. If you put a electric pump in place be sure it is not over 3 PSI pump and if you put it up under the hood try to put it in a place where it will receive fresh air to cool it. Some electric pumps can draw fuel well and some can't so you may need to check that the pump you are going to purchase can be mounted up front. Other pumps can push but have little power to draw and they need to be mounted near the tank. Ensure to use clamps on all hose connections and mount the pump correctly as per the instructions.
