Triumph Repair: Triumph Spitfire 1500, rear suspension components, triumph spitfire 1500

Question
When going over bumps and sometimes around corners I get a distinct tapping noise from the right rear of the car. On closer investigation I found that where the rear radius arm is connected to the body of the car the arm has pushed through the rear bulkhead behind the passenger seat and the road can be seen through the crack it has created. Have you ever encountered this problem and what is the fix. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Charlie,
I have not run across that particular one but have seen other rear suspension components break loose from the body and like them you are going to have to remove that part of the suspension and make structure repairs to the body in that area. And it would be advisable to examine the other side too.
