Triumph Repair: Removal of dials etc in dash, tachs, speedometer

Hi,
I have a 1974 Spitfire with wiring issues, so I am cleaning up the wires etc and checking all connections.  I have removed various switches etc but am unsure of the tactometer and speedometer removal.  I have unhooked everything apart from one wire that goes into the back of each dial.  I'm not sure if it can be just pulled out??

Michelle, look at the wire and see if there is a wire end on the wire. If so you can pull it off. Some tachs have two wires that go into the tach but I never seen a speedometer have any wire go inside. You need to look a little closer at the wires.
