Triumph Repair: clutch slave, clutch system, clutch slave

Question
I recently replace a clutch slave on a tr6 that has been sitting for 9 years.  I bleed the slave and tried everything to get air out. Peddle stiffens some but not enough to disengage clutch.

any ideas?

Answer
Hi Ben,
It is sometimes difficult to get the air out of a clutch system partly because you are trying to bleed air down in a large hose.
First be sure the reservoir is only about half full, then force the slave cylinder pin back into the slave cylinder with a pry bar. Then very slowly depress the clutch pedal to the floor and very slowly let the pedal up in a long slow movement. Then repeat that process several times to see if the pedal is firm as soon as you depress it. This puts any air in the line up and out the reservoir.
