Triumph Repair: alternative engine, mazda rotaries, honda s2000

Is there any easily swapable engine for a 79 spitfire? I want to swap engine with 4 cyl American or Japanese engine, but have no idea what would be a good choice. Was considering putting in a 2000cc Pinto engine or something similar. What would you suggest, and the budget is not that great.

There is no one 4 cyl swap that is common; I have a TR7 with a Toyota 3G engine, but others have done honda S2000, Mazda rotaries, and other Toyota engines.

By far the most common swap I have seen is a ford or GM V6.  All the swaps, however, usually require modifying the frame, firewall, rear transmission mount, and often the rear end and axles given the doubling/tripling of the RWHP.
