Triumph Repair: Wire wheels to steel rims - front studs 72TR6, rusty bolts, steel rims

Question
I am converting back to standard OEM steel rims and have new longer studs for the front and back. I have completed the back wheels, but replacing the front studs with longer studs requires the removal of the hubs from the disc brake router. Will I need a puller to disconnect the hub from the router after removing the Nut on the axle, removing the rusty bolts from the brake calipers, dust cover and rust bolts holding the hub to the router? Any tricks or traps to be aware of?

Answer
No.   Pulling the grease cap on the castlatted hub nut is always the hardest for me.
After removing the caliper,
Remove the castle nut & pin
Remove the roller bearing and hub/disc assembly.
Remove the 4 bolts holding the rotor to the hub
You may need a soft hammer and some penetrant to wiggle the rotor off the hub.
You don't need a puller, just work the edges around little by little.
Sometimes a BFH is OK if you are replacing the rotor.
Press out the old studs
Press in the new studs
Remount/Replace the rotor
Repack the bearings and hub grease
Reassemble and torque the castellated nut as per spec
Replace the grease cap/caliper
Done.

Hope that helps...In nearly all cases you can do this with normal hand tools.
