Triumph Repair: Spitfires and Carbs interchangeability, twin ports, spitfires

Hi,

I have an 1147 engine with twin SU's fitted, and want to use those on a 1300 engine with the MK3 intake manifold to suit the twin ports on the 1300. I then want to use the old Zenith single carb currently fitted to the 1300 on the old 1147 engine, but I am not sure if this is possible. Is it ?

Hi Steve,
I have never tried to make such a swap so I can't tell you if the manifolds are interchangeable. As far as the carbs working, they can be adjusted to work if the manifolds will fit. You will have to remove both and use the gaskets to tell if they will interchange.
