does transmission fluid go into the dual carburetors

Hi Latania,
Some people do use automatic trans fluid but I like to use engine oil. The oil is a shock to prevent the piston form moving too quickly on a quick throttle opening. This takes the place of an accelerator pump on a conventional carburetor. It also dampens the pulses at idle.
Either will work, the thicker engine oil gives you a little richer mixture on a quick throttle opening.
