Triumph Repair: spit rear brakes, rear adjuster, rear brakes

Question
The brakes on my Spit MK2 in front looks caliper 12 and rear have bore diam. 3/4, so it looks standard. I has turn rear adjuster off 2 full turns, but still locking rear before front. When I has installing new caliper repair kit on rear cylinder, only thing I am noted, that new dust cover inner hole was to small to fit, so I am use the old one, but oder parts fit OK. In front the cylinders moving OK. Can the front brake pads friction be bad? (New standard pads). When I drive backwards and brake, the balance is perfect.

Answer
Hi Andres,
The front should lock up first. To see if something is wrong with the front, you may need to find a brake bleeder valve that fits the line fitting of the rear line where it connects to the junction or if you have the dual system you need to put the bleeder valve into the master cylinder in place of the line for the rear brakes. and test the braking of the front only to see if you can lock them up. Most auto parts stores have an assortment of bleeder valves so you will have to match one up to the thread size.
If you put in new pads but didn't turn the disks, you may need to turn the disks. As it may take time for  the new pads to conform to the old disks. If you replaced the calipers did you check to see that the replacements had the same bore diameter as the old ones? If you put calipers on that had a different bore size it would upset the ratio of pressure on the front vs the rear.
