Triumph Repair: Tr6 Front Brake Caliper Halves Bolt Torque, caliper, torque

Question
HI
What is the torque

Answer
I don't have a Bentley repair guide for the TR6 handy, but from what I have found discussed on the web, the setting is:

35.5 to 37 lb. ft.

Its been said the following statement is in the shop manual on splitting the calipers:

"Only split the caliper if it is unavoidable, then replace the fluid channel seal, bolts and lock plates. Only bolts supplied by BMC Service Ltd. may be used"

Grade 8 bolts should be sufficient.  I would not use normal grade 5 or 3.  You have to hold hydraulic pressure of hundreds to thousands of lbs in a brake system, so this is why they discourage splitting the calipers unless you really need to.
