Triumph Repair: Carb problem - 3 Webers, weber triple triumph tuning

Question
I recently had 3 webers installed my 1974 TR-6 in Reno NV.
The carbs were bought from the leading supplier on the West coast and were correct for this car. The installer in Reno has be unable to get the car to run right after almost 2 years of trying. Reno is at about the same altitude as Colorado, so I was wondering if you had experience with the triple weber set up for a TR-6 and might be able to give some advice. Jetting possibly?
Thank you so much.
Sincerely,

Frustrated in Reno.

Answer
Very Likely; however you don't describe the symptoms (hesitation, run rich, run lean, no power, etc)

Here is a list of things to check into:

-Fuel Pressure (webers are sensitive to too much pressure; 1.5 lbs I think is the recommended, 3lbs max
-Float levels:  Can be difficult to set
-Carb sync:  Using a flow meter on each intake, are the idle mixture, idle set, linkage connections and idle jets set to balance the flows across all 3 carbs
-Jetting, as you suggest, is a possibility, A/F ration under load would tell you if it is correct.
-vaccum leak:  could be throwing one carb set's mixture off dramatically from the other 2.  spray starter fluid around gaskets while shielding the intake pickups, and see if RPMs rise.

I've not run the side draft webers; I have several but have yet to do tuning; I either have run the ZS or the DGAV weber; sync and mixture have always been the largest issue I've heard reported about running the 3 weber set; many have done it successfully; search out on the web for "triple weber triumph" and you'll get some hits on how to tune the triple weber setup.
