Triumph Repair: Front Bumper Mount, squaretail, roundtail

How should I mount a GT6 '63-65 front bumper to a 1979 Spitfire 1500 so that the hood hinges will not be impaired?

I believe that you can't without modifying the brackets or the bumper itself; The roundtail version of the spit and GT6 have different hood bracketing that the squaretail versions.  If a squaretail spit owner wants chrome bumpers, they typically pull them from MkIV and early 1500 (1970ish+), as the bumper and hood brackets are the same for those years.
