Triumph Repair: Rear engine mount replacement, transmission tunnel, spit

Question
I have a '74 Spit that needed new engine mounts. My grandson and I replaced the front ones easily but the problem is the rear ones.
They are completely deteriorated and I can see no easy way to replace them.
Looking at the VickyBrit catalog it looks as tho the transmission tunnel cover may come off from the inside. If it does can I do it better from there?
Thanks,
Smoke

Answer
Smokey,

Yes, you'll need to pull the trans cover in order to access the rear mounts.   It'll mean pulling the seats (or at least one, passenger side works best) and pulling the dash support (with radio opening) before you can pull off the carpet and the trans cover.

Once the trans cover is off it's fairly simple to replace the rear mounts.
