Triumph Repair: Wheel Locked up, rear shoes, rear drums

Question
Hiya, I am by no means an expert in cars, however I do have a 1971 Triumph
Spitfire, hasn't run for years ( 10 ) and just now realizing that I want to
attempt to have her fixed up, I cant actually Push her out of the garage... she
is neutral, and the wheels have air, I have tried with my foot on the clutch,
and without... I guess my question is... if there is some trick... or secret that I
am obviously unaware of ... or if it is probably just her lack of mobility from
years of rest?  Any help or words of advice you can send me would be so
highly appreciated!!! Thank you so much, Court

Answer
Hi Courtney,
It is common for the brake disks to rust and stick when sitting up for a long time. If the hand brake was on, the rear shoes will be stuck too. If you can get the car started, sometimes the car will have enough power to break them loose. If not you will have to remove each wheel and pry the pads off of the disk and sand the rust off of the disk on both sides of each disk. Do the same with the rear drums.
