Triumph Repair: Glass winshield installation on TR6, deer valley airport, auto glass company

Hello. I am trying to figure out how to install a good used window into a New front windshield rubber I bought from Victoria British to further complete a paint and resto. on a 1970 TR6. I am using liquid dish soap/water.I think I might need a second set of hands. On my next try, I am thinking about inserting a 1/4"diameter nylon rope into the windshield rubber slit to help keep it open to aid in starting the glass into the slit that essentially is closed, because it's new... ever do 1 before on a TR6/TR4 or Spitfire? Could You offer help? I'd pay You back with similiar help and we might become friends, who knows. I live by Deer Valley Airport. Thank-You.

Charles, I don't know if my answer went or not, so here it is again,
I have over the years not been successful at installing glass and I found that it is a job for professional glass people as they can do the job in minutes for a surprisingly low cost. I am nowhere within a 1000 miles of you and if I were and you asked be to help I would run the other way as fast as I could. Sorry, the best advise I can give is to take it to a auto glass company.
