Triumph Repair: No brake lights, hazard light on but not blinking, brake light switch, fuse box

Question
Howard,

Having electrical problems on my 77 Spitfire. Initially was rust in fuse box cutting out the side lights, dash lights, etc. on that circuit. Finally got that cleaned up, but notice that brake lights don't function, the tachometer is working and the warning light for the hazard constantly stays on. Maybe multiple issues but any insights? The PDWA connection appears to be cracked as well. Would this affect the brake lights? Thanks so much, your answers have been great.

Answer
Hi John,
Check your back up lights. If they don't work either, check for power on both ends of you fuses. If the back up lights work then check the brake light switch and if that is good check for power at the brake lights when the brake light switch is applied.
A PDWA switch is nothing but a switch for a warning light to tell you that there is a difference between the two system brakes and has no connection to the brake lights.
