Triumph Repair: engine swap to GT6 from 79 Spitfire, last models, gear ratios

ihave a 79 spitfire, i want to place a GT6 engine in it. what do i need to do, can i also use the weber Carb from the spitfire and use on the GT6? will this engine mate up with the spitfire tranny without any mods. looking for any and all information on what i will have to do to make this engine fit in and run.

Wes, I'm getting out of the answering business i removed my name or tried to. back in 70 i did a swap like that. the trans and the rear end both needed to be changed along with it.but it did fit. you also need the hood. although the trans looked about the same it was different, and then the gear ratios in it are different so that's where the rear end came in . remember that was a 70. you could go to the books to see the last models of gt6 might have has more similar parts but check the ratios. the spit was like 3.89 and the gt was 3.27
