Triumph Repair: 74 spitfire 1500 lights, worn bearings, hazard switch

Question
Hi! is the oil light suppose to come on when the igtion key is turned on? and the hazard flaher or the hazard name in the middle of the dash above the steering wheel what is this for when is supposed to light up?  Thank you

Answer
The oil light should be lit until the oil pressure has reached minimum operating pressure.  Usually this takes a second or two after the engine has been started.  If it remains on when the engine is running it means the oil pressure sensor is faulty or the engine is about to be rebuilt due to worn bearings.

The hazard lights are used to warn other drivers that the vehicle is experiencing a problem and should not be hit.  The indicator should blink when the hazard switch is turned on.
