Triumph Repair: rear axle bearing, slide hammer, wd40

Question
i have a 1975 spitfire.i have a clicking sound coming from the left rear outter axle bearing,my question is how do you get the hub off the shaft?i tried usaeing a puller that bolted to two studs and all that did was bent the hub.then i tried using a press.again just bending the hub some more.any ideas as i cant find the original tools any where

Answer
sorry for not getting back sooner Steve. My book shows after removing the nut the tool might have been some kind of a slide hammer. that wouldn't help if it's that tight anyway. soaking it with WD40 and or heating it sometimes just doesn't work either. if it bent you probably should start looking for a replacement. sometimes parts together that long just can't be saved. it happend to me. try to find a part yard for another one then if you want try to get yours apart by cutting the hub and saving as much as you can.
