Triumph Repair: TR6 Clutch Master Cylinder Rebuild, clutch master cylinder, apple hydraulics

Question
I'm trying to rebuild the master cylinder for the clutch on my '70 TR6.  I've removed the retainer clip that holds the fork pin against the piston, but I just can't get the darned piston out.  The piston moves freely inside the bore, but it refuses to pop out.  Please help.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Tosh, the piston sometimes digs into the wall of the cylinder and hangs up on the edge there. you might put the cap back on and blow into the hole where the line was with a  air compressor, or push the piston back and see if you see the ridge im talking about and sand it smooth with some fine sandpaper BUT... I recomend just buying a new or rebuilt one or a company called APPLE HYDRAULICS ( they have a web sight ) can re- sleeve yours. in other words if it's that bad a new rubber kit will only last a little while.
