UK Car Repair: Fiesta stalling on acceleration, throttle position sensor, rotor arm

Question
Fords Fiesta Encore - 3 door hatchback - 1.3l - 1299cc- 30-4-98

I have a 98 Ford Fiesta which stalls when the accelerator is pushed. It idles find but as the accelerator is pushed it reaches a point where it stalls. if I catch it before it starts to stall and press the accelerator further it is fine. I havent a clue what it could be so I was hoping you guys may have an idea. I have just paid top have the points and plugs changed, which the garage told me would cure the problem.

Thanks.

Answer
its the Throttle position sensor. TPS. £15 on ebay.

disregard original answer. the points threw me.

I guarantee, in the legally binding sense that this will work :)

p.s.

the fiesta doesn't have points _ it has electronic ignition. could have been referring to the distributor cap and rotor arm but it sounds dodgy to me.
