UK Car Repair: overheating, vauxal, waterpump

i have a 1995 1.4L vauxal astra that over heats how can i find out what the problem is?

If it just started happening check the cooling system is full. no leaks etc.

If the cooling system IS full, then...


It's either the thermostat or waterpump,

Does the waterpump make noise with engine on(waterpump has a pipe from the radiator going to it and it runs off the fanbelt)

Does the radiator actually get hot when the guage reads hot?

Does the car heater work when the engine is hot?

What mileage on the car?
