Question
QUESTION: Hi Christian,
I asked you a question not too long ago about the wiring for a Honda O2 sensor, which you solved brilliantly.
I'm hoping for lightning to strike twice because I need a bit more help.
I'm still working on the same car, a Honda Ascot Innova F20A auto, in a CB3 chassis. No ABS, rear drums, no cruise control, SOHC.
I'm dropping the sump now because I noticed when I put the O2 sensor back in that its weeping oil around the edge.
My problem is that there are two bolts located on the drivers side of the sump that are blocked by a bolt on plate. This plate is bolted onto the side of the transmission. My question is what is behind this plate? How safely can it be removed in order to access and remove the final two sump bolts?

The bolt on plate is small - has approx 4 bolts holding it on. Where the plate comes near the sump bolts it has a small recess in order to fit the bolt heads, but not enough of a recess to fit even a 1/4" thin walled socket over the bolt heads .

I've been scouring the net and friends for the last week trying to find out what is behind this plate, can it be removed, will I end up under tranny fluid...

I'll upload a photo if needed...sorry I just got cleaned up to get on the computer and forgot to take a pic before.

Appreciate any advice you can give me.

ANSWER: I have the manual downloading right now, hopefully the transmission is the same for the european "honda accord saloon", since its the same chassis and engine -hopefully they used the same gearbox too.

QUESTION: The Ascot Innova is knows as the Euro Accord to most export countries, so I've got my fingers crossed. Where do you find these manuals? I've hunted for them for a long time.
I've attached a photo taken from under the car - poor quality sorry. You can see the plate is semi-circular and its bolts are circled in red, not all are visible.

Answer
I found them on BTJUNKIE + Piratebay - torrent site, you need bittorrent or utorrent to download the torrents...

The manuals are generally public domain, I've yet to see a copyright warning on any of them.

Maybe this will help - not sure.

.The transmission is a PX4B if that helps.
