UK Car Repair: Astra 1.4 GLS M-REG Light switch, crimp connectors, loose connection

Hi Paul,just managed to get the light off,it looks as if that is the fault because 1 of the pins has burnt out on the switch its self (think there called pins).It looks as if it has damaged the pin it goes into because that has melted a bit too,im guessing if is the case im in deeper trouble,is that a possibilty?

Hey johnny, sorry it took so long, you would need to get the plug as well as the switch because you have had a loose connection on your old one, it has been arcing out and this causes alot of heat and is incidentally the no 2 cause of fires in cars (no2 being incorrect fuse  rating). Cut each wire about 3" long from the new plug and cut each old wire about the same. Get some blue straight through crimp connectors, re-attach the new plug and switch, with wires to the old wires.
