UK Car Repair: jammed boot lock rolls royce silver shadow II, rolls royce silver shadow, royce silver shadow

Question
I cannot open the locked boot. A locksmith says the lock mechanism is Ok. he says it is the lever in the trunk that is not activating the lock.  Can you advise please.
Will I be able to get in to the trunk if I take out the rear seats?? Urgent reply needed as I am due to make airport pick up.  Thanks

The answer is to kneel down behind the boot, if you have thick gloves it is better, but using both palms of your hands strike the boot lid at the top of the recessed lower section with an upward blow, it should spring open, it may take a number of blows, make sure you use the flat palms as you don't want to dent the panel.
