UK Car Repair: Golf GTi Bonnet lock, golf gti, release cable

Hi Expert,
The bonnet lock release cable has stopped working, I've read up on how to replace it but...how do I open the bonnet to do the job?

It is very difficult sometimes and without looking at it it is hard to say. See if it is possible to remove the undershield and get up to it. On many cars a headlamp or front grille has to come off. If you have to break something for access first check out what is the cheapest to replace.
