UK Car Repair: Electrical Problems?, s type jaguar, wiring loom

Its a 2000 s-type jaguar......yes it is the drivers door ....the light that comes on when you open it and that light is working now its just the two right hand doors that the window lights dont work on and the rearview now and sometimes they will come on....how do i check if its a bad connection im sorry it wasnt that clear to me?

Hello expert i have a 2000 jaguar and when i first got the car i noticed that the light on the door was out i didnt think much of it because i thought i just needed to replace the light then one day the compass on my rear view went out and the lights on the two right doors for the window went out and sometimes rarely they will start working again .....what do you think the problem could be a fuse or something more complicated?

What model is it?  I presume you mean the drivers door initially, but is it left or right hand drive?  Regardless the problem is most likely in the harness on the drivers door, often it will get caught up and pulled where it comes from the body into the door.  Check by moving it around with the door open. Also check the fuse panel for all of these items it could be a bad connection.

First check the fuses- it may be a bad connection.  The only way to check for a short -other than opening up the harness- is to open and close the door a number of times and see if it works at all. You could also try moving the wiring loom that comes from the body into the front of the door, with the door open shake the harness to see if the lights work.  Merry Christmas
