i have a 1986 jaguar xj6 and for some reason he loves to spend my money. my lastest fix is a window that i think just has come off the tract, im pretty handy how would one do this.

Buy a replacement window regulator from an auto recycler.
Bring it to a body shop and allow them to replace it.
If you absolutely must do this yourself I would suggest buying a Robert Bentley manual for it which details window glass installation. The expertise required to adjust the glass is not something you can pick up in one sitting and perform. Trial and error is a big part of the learning curve in this respect. Buy some new channel guides as well and have these installed while you’re in there. Moss Motors in Goleta CA can provide the parts you need. I wish I could give you a good detailed tutorial on the process, but it is more experience and technique than instruction and really should be completed by a professional.
