Volkswagen Repair: New Beetles, beetle, recall

I am looking to buy a beetle soon and am concerned about what I hear regarding the electrical problems some people seem to have. Has this been an issue with the 2007 and 2008 models?? Is there anything else with these cars I should be aware of before buying one?? Thanks

LemonYellow The only significant recalls for 07-08 I know of is for a brake light malfunction and the spoiler.  However, check this site; it is in no way "official", however since there are over 800 owner complaints logged since 2000, it might give you some insight:
