Question
I go out to crank my Jetta and it does not turn over just makes that "my battery works but I cannot start sound" no click, click, click just my engine turning but not starting. It has done this to me before but all i have to do is press the gas(diesel)pedal/accelerator as I am turning the key and it starts, a little hesitantleey but it starts. Not today. Today I got a "low Oil Pressure warning along with a warning chime. The manual said to take it to a shop?????? What do you recon is wrong with it?????

Answer
Hi Lance;
This sounds like a fuel problem.  Has the fuel filter been changed recently?  If so, there is probably a bubble of air in one of the fuel lines to the cylinders, and it won't start.  The low oil pressure chime, and light come on whenever the engine cranks for an extended period of time.  This, at least, is normal.  If the fuel filter has NOT been changed, change it.  The engine is starved for fuel.  The engine in your car is a "pumpe deuce" engine, and has a very finicky fuel filter setup.  If you are not 100% confident, in your ability to change the filter, and clear the fuel lines of the air, then take it to the dealer.  Non- dealer service providers have not seen enough of these to be consistent in the outcome of filter replacement...it's NOT the same as the old "ALH" engine, it's not even close.
