Question
like the other guy, i have the same problem. fuel filter, pump, distributor, have been replaced. cleaned out pressure regulator, new oxygen sensor...still no fuel to the injectors.any ideas?

Answer
Hi Barb;  Sounds like you know your way around a Volkswagen pretty well.  I would say we need to find out if the pump is getting power, and turning on.  If it is, get a hand operated vacuum pump, and start by pulling fuel into the filter, and get it completely full, you need to use a separate container between the hand pump, and the filter, so you don't pull raw gas into the vacuum pump, and wreck it.  Once that is accomplished, put your fuel system back together, and use the same setup for the fuel line to the fuel rail.  Hand pump gas up from the now full filter, and into the separate, protective reservoir at the end of the fuel line.  Now that you have gasoline all the way from the tank to the rail, turn on the ignition, and listen for the pump to operate.  It should make a clicking, buzzing, or similar noise that is audible from the driver's seat.  If no noise then it's an electrical problem, and not a replaced part problem.  If you have one, and can, use a fuel pressure tester, and see what your pressure is at the rail.  It's going to take somewhere around 35 psi at the rail with this model car.  Let me know how you do.  Hope this helps get you started, Barb.  Good luck.
