Volkswagen Repair: TURBO, crankcase breather hose, rubber hoses

Question
I recently bought an '03 VW GTI a year ago, and within the last month I've noticed that there has been a large decrease in power, and my blowoff valve is much, much louder.  Granted, my car sounds much more impressive, but lacks the acceleration I used to have. It seems like the turbo isn't even connected or affecting the engine anymore. Do you have any suggestions to get my acceleration back?

Answer
Hello Ian;  Sorry for the delay in getting to your question.  My home computer broke.  Sorry.
It almost sounds like the car has been modified.  Blowoff Valve?  There is a "turbo recirculation valve," and a "combi valve" that protect the turbocharger, and the rest of the air inlet system from over pressurization, but not really a blowoff valve.  Anyway, I expect that most of the problem relates to the "suction jet pump," and an overpressurization of the crankcase.  Replace the suction jet pump, the 3 way crankcase breather hose, get the oil out of the intercooler(s), and all of the piping/tubing/rubber hoses that connect the induction system together, and change the oil, and filter.  Use a full synthetic oil product, and start changing the oil every 2500, to 3000 miles, and NEVER go over.  The 1.8T engines are susceptible to breakdown of the engine oil, and build up sludge in the suction jet pump, which leads to a decrease in performance.  Hope this helps, Ian.  Good luck.
