Volkswagen Repair: VW Golf 1.8T (2000) Overheating, vw golf 1, oxnard st

Question
My golf is overheating at 3000revs they've checked the coolant for oil so it's not the headgasket and the water pump is working, the fans kick in a the correct temperature.....what can I check next?  All the garages seem at a complete loss as to what the problem is.....well they all suggest different solutions costing different amounts!!!

Answer
The water pump on these cars are very troublsome. How do you know that the rotors on the water pump haven't started to disenegrate? This is a common problem. I think they do it on purpose because the water pump is attached to the timing belt and they want you to change the water pump soon so it doesn't freeze up and destroy your engine. If you have more then 35k miles on the car, CHANGE THE WATER PUMP and timing belt! I am Max's German Car located at 15020 Oxnard st Van Nuys CA 91411. I have many water-cooled VW parts:1975-2005.
