Volkswagen Repair: 1997 VW Passat 2.8 V6, vw passat, noise sound

Engine stopped. I went to start it, had full charge/power (i.e. radio, lights, etc.), but no ignition noise/sound. Tried jumping it 5 times - no luck.

What could be the problem?

It has 122,000 miles. I replaced the ignition coil approx 30 days ago. I have to replace throtle body but cannot until I can get it started to transport.

I am a little confused. Did the starter engage and the car didn't start or was the car just plain dead? In other words, the engine did not even turn over? BE CAREFUL JUMPING YOUR CAR! You can damage the ECUs and other electrical components if you do it wrong.
