Volkswagen Repair: 78 bus fuel injection, bosch fuel injection, fuel injection

starts but will not stay running. Once it starts and you let go of the key it dies. lose power to fuel pump and injectors. stays running if you prime the intake. I bought it like this and have no history. I found the trigger wire on the + side of the coil and moved it to the -.

Robert, thank you for your question.  You probably have “false air” getting in after the air gate.  Some books you really need are: Bosch Fuel injection & engine management manual as well as Bentley manual for Type 2 1968-1979. To find the leak, get some carburetor cleaner and spray around all of the connections.  If the engine revs up you have found the leak.
