Hi Don,

Purchased a 1996 Golf GL two days ago. Yesterday the driver's side electric window stopped working. Pulled the regulator apart (brushes almost gone) and rebuilt it. While it now works the functions are reversed ie the up button causes the window to go down and vice versa. Is there some way of fixing this without pulling it all apart again?

Andre, thank you for your question.  Actually I have done this myself. Several times, you are not alone!  Usually the connector at the switch is on backwards.  That is the first place to check, but normally requires removing the door panel.
