Volkswagen Repair: v.w. running bad , no idle when warms up, vw thing, stock air

hey there, my vw thing is starting to act up , its a single port, pict 30 / 2  started idling poorly , had to keep it running (two feet) . it idles nice till it warms up , then idle gets low , starts to get a "miss", put in new points, plugs, cap. rotor,changed out the carb, same story. noticed some icing up on the manifold runner below the carb (plugged heat riser?)  would this cause this? only after running a minute ? thanks gene

Gene, thank you for your question.

First your Idling problem: start by pulling out the electric choke, connect 12volts and short body to intake manifold. Dont short to the Carb, sparks will ignite the fuel.

Icing - maybe caused by a plugged heat riser but if you are running without or other than stock Air cleaner will cause the icing problem.

Be sure to adjust the carb as per manual.
