Volkswagen Repair: engine mount, dirt roads, dash lights

I have a 1995 jetta that just recently had the engine mount break in the front center and am wondering if that is a easy fix to do at home and also my car now shakes terribly when i drive about 60 or 65 mph.  Just tonight, I also had my battery light come on and my oil light on --when i checked the oil there was a sufficient amount on the stick--what gives?Please help -Bec

I would get some help with the front mount.  The engine will need to be jacked up and the mount is very tight to remove.

The shaking is caused by the tires.  The rims need to be cleaned out if you travel dirt roads, or the wheels may need to be balanced.

Your dash lights could be a loose belt, worn alternator, or broken wire.  Have someone with electrical experiance check this out.
