Volkswagen Repair: fuel pump, fuel pump relay, jumper wire

Dear sir,

I have an 86 jetta with a 1.8L. untill a few days ago their was always a humming sound when my fule pump ingaged during start up. but now my car won't start and and the noize has stopped. I haved checked the fuses and the pump in the tank and both or in order. I know their is a relay but im not sure where. This car was removed of its pannel map on the fuse panel. Please help if you can.

The fuel pump relay is a on the second row above the fuses, the second relay from the left (number 2 space).

You should also check the fuel pump in the reservoir, (under the car infront of the right rear wheel), for power and ground.

A jumper wire between the two large contacts on the relay, should run the pump constantly, or at least give you power to the positive connection at the pump.
