Volkswagen Repair: cabrio, vw cabrio, wire connections

Hi!
I have just bought my second VW cabrio, 1995. The cruise control is not working and one backseat window does not come down. Someone told me that I could easily do the repair myself, that the cruise control might only be a fuse thing. What do you think?

For what I know about cruise controls, theyare electrical and electrics is one of the first things to fail (not the carburator)-as so many people blame in the past.  So, fuse check, yes, but also check the wire connections everywhere to see that they are clean and tight.  One of the reasons why fuses blow is a poor ground connection.
