Volkswagen Repair: Headlight, volkswagen passat, fuse box

Hello Bernhard,
I own a 1998 Volkswagen Passat. Last night my dashboard lighting for my heating system came on for the first time in months. But at the same time my right front headlight went out. I replaced the bulb this morning and still no light.
Do you have any ideas?

You lost a ground.  Try the headlight switch and look at the connections to be sure they are tight(pull them off and put back on again) If no help, the fuse box backside is probably where you are going to have to look to see if there is any rust.(water getting in)  If you got a friend who is electrically inclined give it to them.  Really.  Try to stay away from the dealler unless you got a warranttee.  Joe mechanic is just as good.
