Volvo Repair: Volvo XC60 collision warning service required, collision avoidance system, volvo xc60

QUESTION: Hi there. I just want to know what is wrong with my XC60 if these two messages shows in my dash - DRIVER ALERT SYS SERVICE REQUIRED and COLLISION WARN SERVICE REQUIRED. Is it the CAMERA or the MAIN CONTROL UNIT OF THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM? Is it pretty much remove & replace these parts if defective and no programming required? I live in Chicago and would appreciate any help. Thanks

ANSWER: If you see those warrnings there is fault I system now it can range from calibration to replace parts scanner must be used ! Also was your car in any accident ? Where in Chicago you service your volvo ?programimg calibration is allways needed for that repairs

QUESTION: Hi there. Thanks for your prompt response. Anyway, the car was never in an accident. I usually go to Fields Volvo to have it serviced. Sometimes I go to Howard Orloff. Most of the maintenance is done by myself except for these complicated electronics stuff. Also, have you replaced any camera before? Does the camera for collsion avoidance system go bad often? Just for your info, my adaptive cruise control works so I would think my radar works. Thanks again.

There can many problems yes camera  or other sensors without scanner to read error codes or calibration after system is repaired there can't you do much at home . You will need to scan got codes first with scanner ! Is you car still under warranty v?
