Volvo Repair: 2011 XC70 torn CV boot, cv boot, volvo dealer

Question
Took new XC70 into dealer for snow tire installation and they found a torn right front CV boot.  There were less than 1000 miles on vehicle.  What could cause this tear?  Not covered under warranty because they say it is damage, not defect.

Answer
it can be many things something from the street like metal or big rock it can go in the area and brake the boot i don't see that problem that much  . but if Volvo dealer did see some proof of impact than is not warranty.  if you have full coverage on car insurance you can claim that under insurance .
but again maybe the part was broken when you bought the car if you have less than 1000 miles  and no Volvo dealer has no proof of impact  you can fight it with  Volvo consumer affair  or the dealer principal.

BUT IF THERE IS SOME PROOF OF IMPACT OR DAMAGE  THAN DONT FIGHT JUST I GUESS FIX IT YOU CANT WINN THAT.
