Volvo Repair: 93 Volvo 960, volvo 960, temp gauge

Question
QUESTION:  Please do describe the seat repair the cable for the driver side seat must be malfunctioning as only one side goes back.  . Will I have to remove the whole seat?  As a matter of fact the AC quit blowing on me today so I think its gonna be a bit more than the bellows and my temp gauge was acting funny and bottomed out?!?!

ANSWER:    Removing the seat is easier. flip it over and it will be evident what pieces you will need and what to do. Not complicated at all.
Tell me more what's going on eith your A/C. I feel like i'm only getting half the story? (What bellows?)

QUESTION: According to Robert there are some "Bellows" that are located behind the glove box that may need to be blocked? or they are blocked?? I got back there and there seems to be a flywheel of sorts and nothing obstructing air flow.  I just dropped the car off at a place called EuroTechs and I am having them give me an estimate for doing all the repairs (less the seat).  Could you explain what goes into removing the driver seat?

The A/C would not blow at full capacity during acceleration, when I would let off the gas, it would then blow harder.  On Friday, it just stopped blowing all together.  I've obviously checked the fuses first to find nothing was blown.  I think I'm going to let the experts take care of this.

I did remember another question I wanted to ask an it was this:  I changed the oil about 2 weeks ago and when I went to remove the filter (Wix) the threaded (I call it a tail piece) came out with it.  I had to put it in a vise to get it out of the old filter (I wrapped it in a shop rag prior to clamping it).  What can I do, because there was a small amount of scaring on the threads from the vise, I put some Loctite on the pan side of the tail piece.  It does not appear to be leaking but can I tap out the pan and install a new tail piece?

Answer
Disconnect the electrical connectors under the seat bottom. Remove the four rail bolts and remove seat.

Scott, no need to replace. Just wrap the housing side of the "tailpiecce with teflon tape and reinstall. Put it in firm. When this happens, it usually means you are putting the filter on too tight.
