Volvo Repair: check stop lamp, wattage bulbs, stop lamp

Question
I have an 04 s60 2.4 mfi front wheel drive.  The check stop lamp light started
coming on when i would press the break.  I checked the bulbs and changed the
break light switch on the pedle.  What now?

  Derek, make double sure you have the correct wattage bulbs in the rear? Also check the high brake light.  
  Are you sure you are seeing the bulb warning light and not the brake system warning light?
  Otherwise it's possible the filament monitor could be bad. I've only seen one bad one in over 30 years though. HTH
