Volvo Repair: 2002 XC70, saabs, good shape

Question
I'm looking at purchasing one for my wife. One owner (female) who adhered to maint.schedule and had all work done at dealer. It has 105k on it and is in good shape. All seems tight and smooth. Is this a purchase you would recommend. I've had her in Saabs for the last 7 years (900 and 2 95's) however the all wheel drive would be very handy for the location of our house in rural Maine with very long driveway. Any advice you could offer would be great.

Answer
Pete, SAABS?  Yuck. Anyway, These are decent vehicles but and I say BUT, when stuff starts breaking, it can get expensive.  Since its an AWD, the driveshaft will most likely start to make noise.  Thats $1100 because nobody rebuilds them for some reason.  Angular gears were a problem on the older V70XC's but Im yet to see one go bad on a newer model.  The usual brakes and stupid trim pieces are another bad point.  All in all if the car was taken care of and you can get it for a good price, by all means get it but dont be surprised when stuff starts breaking later on.  Roger
