Volvo Repair: Volvo repair, 1995 volvo 940, volvo repair

Question
I asked this before but stupidly forgot to tell the year of my car. I have a 1995 Volvo 940 sedan with a high brakelamp that doesn't work. Is it routed through the dome light? I replaced that because of problems. A check lights idiot light is lit on the dash but has always been there. It goes out for a nano second when the brakes are applied. If all else fails can I replace the lamp with something else and tie it into the taillights. Your thoughts. Thanks.
David

Answer
David, it is not routed through the dome light. It is routed above the headliner possibly near the dome light. "If all else fails can I replace the lamp with something else and tie it into the taillights." Anything is possible but it seems like a lot of work to me though. Is the housing damaged? Are the bulbs/led's just out? Have you tested for voltage and ground back there?
