Volvo Repair: 1989 Volvo 240 DL, volvo 240 dl, oil pressure switch

Question
I have changed out the alternator and thought that I connected the wires in the proper sequence...apparently not. Now, when I connect the battery terminals, the 'Battery' and 'Oil' lights on the instrument panel come on (with or without the key in the ignition).  Can you start me over on this with proper wiring instructions? Thanks for your time.

Answer
Terry, what brand alternator did you use?  The oil pressure switch ir right there so you may have unplugged the connector.  Its impossible to wire that wrong.  Big cable on the post with a 10mm nut and the red wire on the terminal.  It may be a bad alternator or a bad red field wire.  You can run a new wire from the red connector on the fire wall down to the alternator.  Roger
