Volvo Repair: Spark Plugs, volvo dealer, 2005 volvo s40

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2005 Volvo S40 2.4i.  The car has about 67,000 miles and I don't think the spark plugs were ever changed.  The car was running fine before I changed them. There were no problems at all.  I just wanted to change them so I can keep records of service. So I replaced them with champion iridiums and I was having rough idling problems.  I went to take them out and all of them cracked and fell apart. So I put my old plugs back in and the car was running fine.  Later on that day I went to the Volvo dealer to get OE plugs. Once i installed them I fired up my engine. It started misfiring and idling rough ,the check engine light came on and then the car stalled.  So then I took out the new OE plugs and put back my old ones.  THe car is running fine with the old ones. ANy reasons behind this even when i put the OE plugs i still had problems?

ANSWER:    Daniel, wrong plugs or wrong gap? Or..... misinstalled? Check to be sure the coil packs are fitting right. Be sure they have the right top tips on them. O'wise, there's no reason.

QUESTION: I'm pretty sure I installed them correctly. Is it necessary to disconnect the battery and reset the computer when you change spark plugs?  Maybe that's why the new plugs were causing my engine to act up?

Answer
Daniel, no, not necessary. I understand you installed them correctly. But it's always the last thing you did if you inow what I mean. VBG Could someone be giving you the wrong part # for the plugs?

I mean, these are the only things it can be????
